It's Time To See God Properly

There is so much going on in our world.

There are so many people concerned about relationships between the police and minorities. People are concerned about the future of our country. There are so many people concerned about their children, concerned about their marriages, concerned about their families, concerned about what is going to happen on their jobs. People are just concerned about so many things; there is so much anxiety in our country right now. My question to you is, regardless of what you may be facing, is there anything too hard for the Lord? Because your answer to that is going to dictate what He can do in your life.

In Matthew chapter 9, there were two blind men that approached Jesus, desiring to be healed. When they approached Jesus, He asked them, "Believe ye that I am able to do this?" And they said, "Ye, Lord." And then He said, "According to your faith be it unto you”. So I would like to ask you something,“ Is there anything too hard for God”? Sometimes when we look at our present circumstances we say 'there ain't no way'! You might have looked at your job and say, "There is no way I am going to move up higher". You might look at your children, and maybe your children have been acting a certain way for so long. Regardless of what we see, we must believe that God can do anything. We must believe that no matter what is negative in our lives, God can turn it around

In Genesis 18:11-14:

Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of woman. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself saying, After I am waxed old, shall I have pleasure, my Lord being old also?' And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore that Sarah laughed saying shall I but surely bear a child which I am old. Is anything too hard for the Lord?

How many of us, our circumstances have gotten so bad that you say, "God can you do this? Can you turn this situation around?" What gets me about Christians today and modern day Christians is that if you read the Bible, if you read the Old Testament, the stuff we deal with now isn’t anything compared to what they dealt with in the Old Testament. People talk about famine and people talk about food shortages, but I think it has never been as bad as what we in this scripture.

The Bible says in 2 Kings 6:25-28:

There was a great famine in Samaria, and behold they besieged it until the donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver and one fourth of a cab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver. As the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him saying, 'Help my Lord, oh king'. And he said, 'If the Lord do not help thee, whence can I help you? Out of the barn floor? Or out of the winepress? And the king said unto her, 'what ails you?' And she answered, 'This woman said unto me, give me your son that we may eat him today and we will eat my son tomorrow.'

I have never looked at my wife and say, "Look, we'll eat our daughter tomorrow and we will eat our son the day after until we run out of children." We have never had it that hard. We think when we come down to our last $10/$15 dollars, it's life or death. But we have never experienced stuff like this, yet we act like there is not a God in heaven. We act like, "I wonder if God can come through? I wonder if he can pay my light bill? Our Father who got water out of a rock, I wonder if he can feed me this week”. Sometimes we don't think because we haven't renewed our minds.

In chapter II Kings 7:1-2, it says:

Elisha said this, Hear ye the word of the Lord, thus said the Lord. Tomorrow about this time a measure of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, two measures of barley for a shekel in the gates of Samaria. Then the lord on whose hand the king leaned answer the man of God and said, Behold, if the Lord will make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but you are not going to eat it.

Do you know what the problem was? He was so caught up in what he saw, that he couldn't believe the Word. Remember when Jesus told Peter to come out on the water? Peter was locked in on what Jesus said. He didn't even see the storm anymore, all he heard was “Come”. When he heard those words, he stepped out and he started to move towards Jesus. He began to act on the Word and he walked on the water. He experienced a miracle even if it was just for a little bit. It wasn’t until he took his eyes off of Jesus and began looking at the wind and the waves that he began to sink. We as believers have to make sure we keep our eyes on the Word if we are to experience the reality of God’s Word in our lives. We have to get to the point where we don't see the circumstances, we don't see the bills, we don't see the troubled marriage, we don't see our children; we are to walk by faith and not by sight.

You were never created to take care of yourself.

The first time man tried to take care of himself was after the fall. Man partook of the fruit and the Bible says that Adam and Eve saw that they were naked. They took some leaves and tried to clothe themselves with them. I can imagine that when God looked at him He said, "Oh my goodness”. The Bible says God clothed them with the animal fur. Adam and Eve was trying to take care of themselves and they blew it just doing that. Proverbs 3:5-6 says:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.

The problem is that we have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of God’s dear Son, but our minds haven't. Spiritually we are in the kingdom, but unfortunately many believers haven’t renewed their minds. God wants us to get out of the "I have to take care of myself" mentality.

We have to renew our minds and realize that the God we read about in the Bible is our Father, , and therefore I can trust him. I can trust that He is going to do what He said He would do. I can trust that he is not going to let me down. I can trust that he is going to take care of my needs.

Limitations are of the mind. God never ever intended for you to have limitations. You have never ever thought of something and God said, "What are you doing? I can't do that”.

The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20: Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ask or think”

When you operate in the kingdom of God, you are limited to what God is limited to, and nothing can limit God. You are in a kingdom of unlimited possibilities.

It's time for us to see God properly. There is nothing too hard for God. God can heal anything and God can heal anybody. God can get you out of debt. God can get that house that you want. God can do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think if we would just simply believe and trust Him.
